Direction and Distraction
Some students learn better when they have someone on their side sitting next to them. For those who can't focus well on a screen and would like to point directly at their problems, in-home learning is a great solution.
Friendly to the Tech-Averse
For students with limited experience using a computer, having to juggle online meetings with sending and receiving of work can distract from the learning they need in a finite amount of time. In-home tutoring helps them skip the learning curve and get to business on the papers already in their hands.
Help Me Help You
Showing up blind to an in-home tutoring session isn't the end of the world, but the more I know what to expect when I ring the doorbell the easier a time we'll have. If possible, set aside a quiet space to work and let me know ahead of time if you're dog-sitting three jumpy huskies.
Even students who need an in-person tutor can benefit with an introductory online session! Session Zero gives everyone a chance to set goals, share resources, and get accustomed to working with one-another before sitting down in the same room.
